My next adventure as a scholar was to learn how to manage and conduct a decompression dives. I was hosted by Marc Powell, one of the UK’s best known technical diving instructors. The course was assisted by Gregory Parker from Hidden Depths Scuba School.
The class takes place in a the National Diving activity centre in chepstow, UK. It was challenging and intense. I was diving for the first time with a steel stage which changed my gravity center and i had to learn how compense to stay in trim position. Marc is a great instructor, he detects your weak points to give you the right advice at the right moment. I really like the fact that he was constantly pushing me to my limits. In a few days I improved my diving skills and knowledge a lot. I am now really proud to be a TDI decompression and helitrox diver. I am really eager to use those new skills to explore new dive sites or stay longer in underwater caves!
Meeting mark was really inspiring. Mark’s passion is wreck diving and it his exploration of deeper wrecks that led him into technical diving. Mark is also well know for publishing Deco for Divers about the theory and physiology of decompression, one of my favourite diving books ever.
