After this amazing first experience with the caves, i was excited to fly to the most popular cave diving destination: North Florida, USA. I was hosted by Lamar and Lee Ann Hires to complete my full cave training.  They were wonderful hosts and made me feel at home from the very first moment I met them.

Lamar is a diving pioneer and owner of Dive Rite company. He has mapped and explored many cave systems around the world including caves/mines in Finland, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Australia, Japan, Italy, Russia, and numerous sites in the USA. Furthermore, Lamar was one of the first to use and to develop training guideline for sidemount configuration. Following his class and listening his stories was sheer happiness. The caves in Florida are very different from the one in the Bahamas. They are freshwater springs and look more like tubes and the flows were sometimes very high. However they have a remarkable varieties of passages and shapes and I was privileged to be allowed to explore them in the company on one of the sport’s true innovators.  Thank you Lamar.
