EXTRA NOTE (15/10/2015): Since I uploaded the video on 30th September, the video has already received >1,600 views! Very, very cool news 😀
Hey folks,
For those of you that have been checking our my recent blogs from the Maldives, you’ll know the whole purpose of my visit was to try my hand at planning, filming and creating some short films related to the work of the Maldivian Manta Ray Project.
Well, I’m stoked to announce that the main project I was working on has been completed! You can check out the film below. The idea of the film is to offer an insight into the work of passionate marine advocate, Ibrahim Lirar, as he visits Hanifaru Bay – the stage for the largest feeding aggregation of reef manta rays in the world.
I’d like to make a massive shout-out to the gang from Nauticam and Reef Photo & Video for kitting me up with camera gear for my scholarship year, to Apeks, Fourth Element and Suunto for suiting me up in easily the best dive gear money can buy. Of course, my biggest thank you goes out to everyone at Rolex and the OWUSS, as well as the team from Four Seasons Maldives and my pals at the Manta Trust. Without these three groups, this month-long experience wouldn’t have been possible…and it has easily been one of the most formative and substantial learning experiences of my year so far.
I hope you enjoy the film! Now the challenge is to try and make my end-of-year film at least somewhat comparable to this in quality. Challenge accepted. 😀
